About Us

Victorian V8’s Inc (VicV8’s) is a CAMS affiliated car club, formed in 2012 by a group of like-minded sprinters that wanted to go RACING. The club was formed to provide the following outcomes:

• Develop driving skills and race craft
• Learn car set up to optimise performance
• Provide a stepping stone to State based racing series
• Go racing at a reasonable cost
• Acquire relative CAMS license requirements
• Drive with people with equivalent skills
• Race within an environment that promotes comradery and learnings
• Everyone is driving there pride and joy
• Have a Penalty system that deters any car contacts
• Have an effective scoring system the rewards consistency - not the fastest car

Although the club’s name implies V8’s, variations to this are allowed at the discretion of the Committee, and will be limited to early 6 cylinder Muscle Cars such as XU-1 Torana’s and similar specification Chrysler product.

A CAMS Provisional Clubman Circuit (PCC) license is the minimum required to enter this series. A medical examination as set out in the Cams Manual of Motorsport is required as part of the PCC application. Also each vehicle will be required to have a CAMS Log Book.

OVERVIEW TECHNICAL GUIDELINES

• Engine free provided V8 from same manufacturer of the body (Engine free provided V8 from same manufacturer of the body with a maximum capacity of 6.0 Litre)
• Brakes are free to a maximum of 6 pistons per calliper
• Suspension must be from the manufacturer of the body
• Bonnet and boot lid are permitted to be fibreglass but all other original body panels must remain as steel
• Gearbox must remain in the original location, must be “H” pattern and must be a manual
• Differential is free
• Tyres are free
• Wheels are free up to a maximum diameter of 18inch
• Front and rear screens must remain original GLASS, but side windows can be replaced with Perspex sheet
• Aero restrictions do apply, but freedoms are very liberal, where a front splitter is fitted it must be at least 100mm off the ground and if a spoiler is fitted on the rear, its maximum height is to be no higher than 230mm as set out in VicV8’s Sporting Regulations
